Growing Together is the newestSims 4pack, and its main objective is to add depth and realism to all types of relationships between Sims. Although it is mostly focused on family dynamics, there is certainly more to it. One of the many gameplay features that the pack added was workplace rivalries.
Sims can now have workplace rivals. These rivals they will stand between the player’s Sim and the opportunity to get a promotion, so it’s best to deal with this problem as soon as possible. This guide will tell players everything they need to know about this new addition to theSims 4.

Why Do Sims Get Work Rivals?
The Growing Together expansion pack added improved Sim personalities with its new compatibility features. Sims can now have personal options on certain conversation topics and other personality traits; this will influence how easily they get along with certain Sims. However, it seems that compatibility isn’t the reason why Sims become work rivals. They can start a rivalry with a Sim with whom they have Good Compatibility.
Every day a Sim goes to work, there is a possibility that they’ll find themselves a workplace rival, but it’s all up to chance. It is also chosen at random.A notification will simply appear saying that a rivalry has begun, because sometimes two Sims simply can’t get along in their place of work. Then, in the Relationships tab, the rivalry will appear with a negative friendship bar.
How To Deal With Workplace Rivals
Having a workplace rival will stop the Sim fromearning a promotion in their career.Therefore, it is important to find a solution to this problem right away. There are only two ways to solve an issue with a workplace rival. It can either be done at work, or during a Sim’s free time.
At Work
Once the Sim has gone to work, the player can use the Performance menu in the lower left corner to choose what they’d like their Sim to do during the workday. When a workplace rivalry is active, they have two extra options:
Sabotaging one’s work rival will not result in them getting fired, but it will also not improve the relationship with them. The player’s Sim will continue to mess with their coworker and prank them until the rival loses patience and decide not to bother the player anymore.
Outside Of Work
Gamers can deal with this issue during their free time, butthey can only do so by becoming friends with the other coworker.There is no mean way to solve this issue outside of work. It is likely that the coworker will refuse to come over if invited by the player’s Sim, so the best way to talk to them is to track down their location by visiting their house and learning where they can be found. Befriending the rival will result in the disagreement coming to an end once the player’s Sim goes back to work next time.
Regardless of how the player solves the workplace rivalry, once this issue has been dealt with, they will get a well-deserved promotion for their efforts.
