Cobra Kai’s third seasonwas an incredibly successful way for Netflix to kick off 2021, with the series performing well all over the world and season four filming starting right after its release in the usual California and Georgia locations. Meanwhile,The Witcherendured a tougher journey quite befitting for Geralt of Rivia, which included several COVID-related delays and Henry Cavill sustaining a leg injury, until finally wrapping up filming a few weeks ago.

In an official update during Netflix’s first-quarter results presentation, co-CEO and Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos confirmed the two hit shows will be out by the fourth quarter of 2021. They will also be joined byDwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot’sRed Notice, which also features Ryan Reynolds in an all too familiar role, andEscape From Spiderheadstarring Chris Hemsworth. Sarandos explained that the pandemic significantly slowed down filming and post-production for all of these, which were supposed to arrive way sooner, but overall he expects things to return to a “much steadier state in the back half of the year.”
Netflix’spsychological thrillerYou, starring Penn Badgley and Elizabeth Lail, had suffered a similar fate when production work had to be stopped in early 2020, forcing the show to take an even bigger break. This was exactly the same case asThe Witcher, with both having their subsequent seasons planned for release roughly two years after the previous one.
It would appear unlikely audiences will get to see trailers for each of these sometime soon since it’s customary for Netflix to only post these kinds of previews once specific content is pretty close to premiering on its platform. For example,Cobra Kai’s season three trailer went live on December 9, slightly less than a month before its release on New Year’s Day.
Although not much is known aboutCobra Kai’s fourth season, fans ofThe Witchermay already be aware the series is getting ready to explore even more of the world that became so familiar for fans of the games. Especially because Geralt will finally get to see the power lying in Ciri and the two willprobably face off against the menacing Wild Hunt.
