With Xbox fans awaiting the next main IP for the console, many look forward to Bethesda’sStarfieldas the piece to the puzzle. This was previously due to release late in the year butwas eventually delayed to the first half of 2023, and with no set date in line, questions continue to surface regarding when fans will be able to get their hands on the title.

Whilst the chances of another delay are certainly possible, the good news for players is that developers will have much more time to be able to polish and push the title to its full potential as an RPG.
5Combat Focus
Based on its first reveal, fans will be aware that along with its large similarity to the No Man Sky title, it appears as though combat will potentially be a central part ofStarfield. This will be a huge positive for many fans who have been awaiting a good space-focused narrative game ever since theMass Effectseries, which includes most of the main features of an RPG, and a good focus on the aspect of combat.
Despite most of the gameplay reveal showcasing gunplay, there is a possibility for other aspects of combat to also feature which would further serve as a surprise for many players. The skill tree on display during the reveal indicates that this may certainly make combat more pivotal than most maybe anticipated.
4Engaging Dialogue
Many successfulRPG experiences have had dialogue and choices at the forefront of gameplay, which has been pivotal to their success. Examples of this are clear in games such asThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, theMass Effectseries, and many more which make players' choices and actions consequential to overarching plot points within their stories.

Seeing this replicated here will be of huge benefit toStarfield, and potentially add to the potential of the game’s other elements being executed to a high standard. Based on what has been shown so far, fans can expect to see dialogue implemented here at the very least.
3Expansive Character Creation
Thankfully by the presentation of this during the showcase, the chances of this being expansive and giving players an incentive to spend more time in customization are at a high. This is one of the most integral components when it comes down to RPGs, as it allows fans to create fine-tune their experience in the aspect of the main character to their liking.
Whilst this isn’t guaranteed torevolutionize character creation among all RPG games, it still has the potential to make some additions or produce options that are more akin to the most popular titles that are currently out there.
2Voice Lines
Unfortunately, Bethesda confirmed that the sections of dialogue will be forced into first-person, and it will not contain voice lines from the main character. This can potentially be detrimental to the title and its success from a narrative perspective, as voice lines play an important part in characters' development within these games, particularly the main characters. Whilst the omission of this has worked in previous titles of this ilk, depending on how poorly or well done the other factors are executed, this could be a dealbreaker for some fans.
The likelihood of this suddenly being implemented before the game’s release is highly unlikely if fans are expecting a release at the start of the year. The most which can be done here is an update later down the line of its release, but considering the choice of this being left out at this stage, fans should remove any anticipation of this in the future.
1Realistic Third-Person Animations
Unlike CD Projekt Red and their decision to remove a third-person perspective fromCyberpunk 2077, it seems as though Bethesda will remain with their stance on providing both first and third-person perspectives forStarfield. This will help to adhere to both sets of fans who prefer either one or the other experiences, but as of now, there will be no third-person cutscenes. For some once again, their gameplay experience could be solely dependent on this as the preference for third-person interactions in RPGs are a large amount. Despite this, the help of mods on PC or a potential addition of this later down the line by developers themselves could suffice.
Animations such as running motions, aim down sight actions, and potential melee combat are all integral to the game’s level of immersion and realism. Given the recent delay, the chances for Bethesda to polish this on a technical scale are very high. Fans will hope that developers will not turn back on this and decide to focus on one perspective alone, as this is what many viewed asCyberpunk 2077’s disappointing reception. Whilst it is unknown how similar or how different this may be when it comes down to comparison to mostother third-person titles, from the little glimpse during its gameplay reveal, it is safe to say that fans may be able to experience one which has been made to a decent standard.
