That’s Journeyis an ongoing story that is currently on its 9th volume, which also released on the same day as the announcement of the upcoming anime. The art that was released along with the announcement features main character Chika along with some of the people she has met along the way on her journey, thanking all the fans who have followed her travels so far and revealing that an anime has been green-lit.
Since there was no date or further information given in the announcement, it is safe to presume thatThat’s Journey’s anime isstill far awayfrom becoming a reality. The story itself is likely not even completed yet, a guess we can safely make based on one other exciting thing that came with the announcement. One of the places that Chika will visit in the anime is being decided by the fans!
A link to a Google Form survey about which part of Japan fans would like totravel to mostwas also released. The region that gets the most votes will be featured in the new anime when it is released, which means that that part of the anime at least is not yet complete. It is probably at least a year away from releasing at this point!
If you want to participate in the Google Forms survey, you can check it outhere. There is only one question, but it is in Japanese. If you are not able to read Japanese but still want to cast your vote, the regions are in this order - east, west, south, and north. Who knows, whatever area you vote for may end up in the anime adaptation ofThat’s Journeywhen it does eventually come out!
