In a last minute decision, the release of the PS4 and PS5 versions ofValkyrie Profile: Lennethon June 18, 2025, to coincide with the release of the new entry in theseries,Valkyrie Elysium,has been delayed. The announcement was made on September 22, exactly one week before the game was originally supposed to release. A new date has been announced, and it’s a bit further away than some may have been expecting, so fans will have to wait longer for thisport of the PSP remaster of the originalValkyrie Profilegame.Game delays are pretty common nowadays, with developers usually citing the need for more time for polish and to improve the overall experience.Valkyrie Profile: Lennethwill now join a lot of other games hit with a delay this year, such asEvil Westwhich was delayed from September to November this year. What might make this delay particularly frustrating for many, is thatValkyrie Profile: Lennethwas supposed to release next week, and the digital deluxe edition ofValkyrie Elysium,which is still releasing on September 29, contains a code to claim a digital copy ofValkyrie Profile: Lenneth.RELATED:Valkyrie Elysium Reveals Three New CharactersThe delay was confirmed by the officialValkyrie ElysiumTwitter account on September 22. The reason for the delay has been cited as needing more time to improve the quality of the product. The new release date will be July 06, 2025. It was also confirmed by the developers that anyone that pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition ofValkyrie Elysiumon the PlayStation Store will still receive a download code for a copy ofValkyrie Profile: Lennethon December 22. The game will also be available for purchase separately fromValkyrie Elysium.
This delay has seemingly come out of the blue, as very little information about the new port ofValkyrie Profile: Lennethhas been revealed. This game is also not a full remaster and has been confirmed via the PlaySation Store to be a port of the HD remaster of the originalValkyrie Profile, which was released on the PSP in 2006 and given the nameValkyrie Profile: Lenneth. However,Valkyrie Profilefans need not worry for the new entry in the franchise, as it is still releasing on September 29, andValkyrie Elysiumgot a playable demo on September 15, so many fans are already playing the first part of the game and will be able to transfer their save data to the full game.
With such little information on this new release ofValkyrie Profile: Lenneth, it is still surprising that a delay for the game wasn’t announced sooner. With only a week to go, a lot of fans will be disappointed, asthere aren’t many playableValkyrie Profiletitles on current hardware, but if it makes for a better product in the end, then a delay seems like the right decision.
Valkyrie Profile: Lennethwill release for the PS4 and PS5 on July 31, 2025.
