Borrowing from decades' worth of Marvel history and partly inspired by the MCU,Avengers Campustransports visitors to a world in which the Avengers are setting up new headquarters and training facilities around the globe in hopes of inspiring potential recruits. As part of this initiative, Tony Stark has founded the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, a.k.a WEB, to develop advancements in super-powered technology. Visitors who embark on theSpider-Man Adventureride will be tasked with helping Peter Parker trap an army of Spider-Bots that have escaped from a WEB Workshop. “For me, personally, it’s the most I’ve ever felt like Spider-Man,” said Holland in a behind-the-scenes preview of the attraction from Disney Parks. “So, everyone is going to get to share that experience, which is so awesome. So, I’m just really excited for it to open and I wanna go ride it again with all the fans.”
Tom Holland is currently shootingMarvel Studios and Sony’s thirdSpider-Manfilm, which set photos suggest will be set during the holiday season. In addition to returning MCU favorites such as Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, the untitledSpider-Man sequel will feature an ensemble cast of actors from other franchises, including Alfred Molina as Doc Ock. The inclusion of characters from previousSpider-Manfilms is expected to be explained by the involvement of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, who will reportedly serve as Peter Parker’s mentor.
How the multiverse and alternate worlds factor into Marvel Studios and Sony’sSpider-Man3 may become clear after the conclusion ofWandaVision. While the Disney Plus series has yet to provide a clear explanation for how the title characters of Wanda Maximoff and Vision find themselves in an alternate sitcom-type world, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has already confirmed the events of the show will be tied directly toSpider-Man 3andtheDoctor Strangesequel.
The nextSpider-Manfilm may also markthe return of Charlie Cox, who has reportedly been spotted on set as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Cox previously portrayed the titular character on Netflix’sDaredeviluntil the streamer canceled the series after three seasons.
