From now until Friday, May 15,PokemonGOplayers will be completing a number of Johto Throwback Challenge tasks, some of which will require them to track down Pokemon of various types. For instance, fans that want to finish all of theJohto Throwback Challenge tasks inPoGOwill need to catch a Steel-type Pokemon at some point in the next several days, and this guide will help them do exactly that.

For those fans that want to catch a Steel-type Pokemon inPokemon GO, looking in parts of cities that are populated with large buildings is recommended. However, not every player will have easy access to this type of area, and fans that do may still find it a bit challenging to catch one ofPoGO’s Steel-type Pokemon. For these players, a Magnetic Lure Module may be just what the doctor ordered.

For the uninitiated, Magnetic Lure Modules can be purchased fromPokemon GO’s shop for 200PokeCoinseach, and they can be attached to a PokeStop by tapping the Lure icon above the picture disc. Once the Magnetic Lure is attached, Electric, Rock, and Steel Pokemon will be attracted to that PokeStop for the next 30 minutes, and players can use that opportunity to catch one ofPokemon GO’s Steel-type Pokemon and complete the Johto Throwback Challenge task.

To note, this is not the last Johto Throwback research inPoGOthat will have fans looking for certain types of Pokemon, as subsequent tasks require players to catch Ice and Water-type Pokemon. Again players may want to look towardsLure Modules inPokemon GOto knock out those tasks quickly, and the Glacial Lure is what fans should use in both of those instances.

For players that are curious about what they will receive for catching a Steel-type Pokemon inPokemon GOand completing all of the other Johto Throwback research, the ultimate reward is aHo-Ohwith Earthquake. Additionally, completion of all of the Johto Throwback Challenge tasks is required to unlock a Special Research at the end of this multi-part event, and indeed that is something that many players will not want to miss out on.
