Perhaps the best thing aboutSkyrimis how well supported it has been by the modding community. The game regularly sees DLC-sized additions thanks to the hard work of modders, something not many other games benefit from. Now, a newWitcher 3-inspired mod is adding a Solstheim-sized new land to the game.

DubbedLand of Vominheim, the mod is available for both the originalSkyrimandSkyrimSpecial Edition. According to the mod’s creator, VenjHammet, the new land is roughly the size of Solstheim, the island added inSkyrim’sfinal DLC,Dragonborn.Vominheimconsists of five islands in an archipelago and is inspired byThe Witcher 3’s Skellige. There are no actual questlines in the archipelago, though VenjHammet does promise plenty to explore, along with some quest notes, treasure hunts, and journals to help with world-building. Not to mention, somepowerful enemies to battle.

“I started this island when the temple of Vuldur was created and it slowly became [so] big that eventually, I decided to expand the land and put more locations,” VenjHammet wrote in themod’s description, “you’re able to expect dungeons and caves to be highly detailed and immersive.”

Mod support forSkyrimhas been stellar since the game released in 2011. There are currently several major projects in development for the game, includingSkyblivion, the mod looking to recreateOblivioninSkyrim’sengine. WhileLand of Vominheimdoesn’t share quite that amount of content, screenshots of the new land do look fairly detailed. It would certainly make a great building block should VenjHammet ever decide to add more of a narrative to it.

The mod may not be the best for those looking for a major new story to rip through, though it should offer players a decent amount to explore. There aregames with bigger worlds thanSkyrim, though, with the help of mods,Skyrimhas a definite edge over some of the other popular options out there.

There are tons of mods forSkyrimout there that range from minor tweaks toaddingSkyrimGranda Shirley Curry to the game. For those with some time to mess around and a hunger to return to the world ofThe Elder Scrolls,it’s definitely worth exploring what’s out there.

Skyrimis available now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Switch.
