World of Warcraftis notorious for throwing pop culture references into the game wherever possible. OneWorld of Warcraftfan has made a connection of his own, combining a character fromMonsters Incwith an Old God.

A Redditor by the name of Moris, aWorld of Warcraftand Old God fan, was responsible for the meme’s creation. With a simple shop, he combined G’huun, one of the eldritch antagonists ofBattle for Azeroth, with Roz, the iconic and intimidating key master/CDI head fromMonsters Inc.

The picture itself is of G’huun lurking in his lair deep beneath the swamps of Nazmir. However, Moris placed Roz’s recognizable red sweater, pen, and clipboard onto the slithering monster. G’huun’s pose even makes it look like he is reading the clipboard, just ashis slug-like counterpart inMonsters Inc.

Gamers are notorious for their creativity, andWorld of Warcraftfans are no exception. Between fan art projects and memes, there is no shortage ofWoWreferences for players to enjoy. Sometimes, fans even find these things in the outside world, like theWorld of Warcraftfan who recently discovered a bust of Illidan Stormrageduring a hotel stay in Spain.

Moris’ fellowWorld of Warcraftplayers got a kick out of his meme. They immediately began copying quotes from Roz but changed them to fit G’huun andBattle for Azeroth. Several fans stated they would never be able to fight G’huun or watchMonsters Incagain without seeing this crossover.

Many fans also took this time to reminisce about thebest parts ofBattle for Azeroth. Though the expansion was contentious and held a fair amount of unpopular design decisions, there were plenty of things fans enjoyed–G’huun and Zandalar being some of them. The pseudo-Old God’s creepy, pestilent influence on the world was unlike other Old Gods, and players fondly remember their first encounter with the slug-like beast.

World of Warcraftwill have a lot to live up to withDragonflight, however.Battle for AzerothandShadowlandshave more negatives associated with them than positives, andWorld of Warcrafthas lost a lot of good faith with its fans over the last few years, made even worse with Blizzard’s sexual harassment and discrimination allegations. However,World of Warcrafthas been working to fix its reputation and has tried to improve over the last year. Players will have to see if it follows through with this trend in Patch 9.2.5,Dragonflight, and beyond.

World of Warcraftis available now on PC.
