Summary
The Trading Post is a shop where players can purchase transmog items from a rotating stock using an in-game currency called Trader’s Tender. Ever since the feature was introduced toWorld of Warcraftin early 2023, fans have seen former Battle.net items removed from the cash shop make their way to the Trading Post, and many new items have come with notifications that they may be added to the new feature once they leave the store.
However,World of Warcraft’s newest transmog broke this cash shop tradition. The Gladiator’s Ragged Armor is an ensemble themed after Varian Wrynn’s outfit he wore as Lo’Gosh in theWorld of Warcraftcomics. The highly-anticipated transmog is available for $20 until the end of April, but unlike other limited-time purchases,Battle.net does not mention if the set is coming to the Trading Post. That said, confirmation that it will arrive at the Trading Post no sooner than three months after it leaves the store can be found in the ensemble’s tooltip in the in-game store.
The Gladiator’s Ragged Armor in World of Warcraft
This buried lead has causedno small amount of concern among theWorld of Warcraftcommunity. While they aren’t enthusiastic about a $20 price tag for a single outfit, their biggest problem is with how unclear the plans for the transmog coming to the Trading Post were. Not placing it on the actual Battle.net page at all, while placing it in a tooltip only found in the game, left a poor taste in players’ mouths, who felt likeWorld of Warcraftwas trying to trick them into buying it.
The Gladiator’s Ragged Armor itself is a transmog players have been wanting for a long time. Fans had previously discovered evidence it was coming toWorld of Warcraftalongside other outfits inspired by iconic characterslike Sylvanas. Hopefully, future cash shop transmog ensembles will avoid hiding these important details so players can be fully informed before they make a purchase.
