After passing through the Dark Portal for the very first time,World of Warcraft Classicplayers will find themselves standing in Hellfire Peninsula. This zone in The Burning Crusade is home to numerous quests, a variety of named locations, and even a few dungeons. The easiest of those dungeons, with a recommended level range of 59 to 63, is Hellfire Ramparts, and this guide will detail exactly whereWorld of Warcraft Classicfans can find its entrance.
To get right to it, there is a portal into Hellfire Ramparts near the center of Hellfire Citadel, a named location in the middle of Hellfire Peninsula. More specifically, that portal is at coordinates 47,53, and a ramp near coordinates 49,57 will take players directly to it. For those players that prefer a visual reference, the video below demonstrates how to reach the entrance toWorld of Warcraft Classic’s Hellfire Ramparts dungeon.

To note, there is a quest called Weaken the Ramparts that is to be completed inside of Hellfire Ramparts, and it is obtained through quest chains in Hellfire Peninsula. ForAlliance players inWoW Classic, that chain begins with a quest called The Legion Reborn, and it starts for Horde players with a quest called Through the Dark Portal. Regardless of a players faction, it is worth taking a moment to confirm that they have received Weaken the Ramparts before heading over to the dungeon’s entrance.
It is also worth mentioning that the last boss in Hellfire Ramparts, Vazruden the Herald, drops an item that players should make sure to pickup. That item is the Ominous Letter, and it will ultimately lead to a new quest that centers aroundWorld of Warcraft Classic’s The Blood Furnace dungeon. For the uninitiated, that dungeon is also accessed by way of a portal in Hellfire Citadel, and its recommended level range is 60 to 64.
One final thing to say about Hellfire Ramparts is that it does have a Heroic mode, which becomes available after a player reachesLevel 70 inWoW Classic. This version of the dungeon features revised loot pools, increased reputation rewards for slaying enemies, and more, though fans will need to obtain a Flamewrought Key before they can enter it. To earn that key, players must reach honored reputation with Thrallmar or Honor Hold, which means that they will have likely completed Hellfire Ramparts quite a number of times before they are able to access its Heroic mode.
World of Warcraft Classicis available now on PC.
