When theWorld of Warcraft: DragonflightPre-Patch was dropped on July 28, 2025, it came with a massive overhaul of the talent system. There are now more options and talent combinations than there ever have been,even compared to WoW Classic. The Outlaw Rogue has seen so many great choices available, it can be hard to determine what the best talents are.
Best Overall Talent Build for Outlaw Rogues in WoW: Dragonflight
Luckily, Dragonflight comes with a"Starter Build"you’re able to use if you’d like to simply have the game assign you talents to start with. This build is available if you open your talent UI and choose “Starter Build” in the bottom left corner.
You will need to fill out both theRogue Class Talent Treeand theOutlaw Specialization Talent Treewhen choosing talents for your Rogue in WoW Dragonflight. The Rogue Class tree represents a tree that all rogues can use regardless of their specialization. The Outlaw tree will be specific to the Outlaw specialization and only active when you have that specialization chosen. For the most part, we recommend the same talents in the Rogue Class tree for all specializations.
In this guide, we will go over what we recommend as the best overall talent choices for the Outlaw Rogue’s damage output. As new data and DPS Rankings are gathered, we will add in additional talent builds with specific targets such as a Meta Raid Talent Build for maximum raid DPS, and PvP talent builds as well.
Dragonflight Rogue Class Talent Build
The following is repeated from theAssassination Rogue Talent Build Guide. We offer the same narrative as we have made the same choices for the Rogue Class Tree.
We won’t go over every choice in these trees, but we will highlight some key choices and why they are chosen. The beginning of the tree covers some of the main abilities you want to make sure you have in both PvE and PvP settings includingBlind,Sap,Cloak of Shadows,Evasion, andTricks of the Trade.Shadowstepis also chosen as it is incredibly useful and let’s face it, downright fun to use.
Some other key choices for theRogue Class Treewe like are:
This Dragonflight Rogue Class Build leaves out mostly talents that involve stuns and crowd control. The idea here is to give you the best damage output, but it also notably missingFind WeaknessandShadow Dancenear the bottom of the talent tree. While venturing down the right path to obtain these would seem to be a wise choice, we believe that thecenter of the tree is more important to the buildand will result in better damage and use overall.
Dragonflight Rogue Outlaw Tree Talent Build
Major Selections:
The following Outlaw Rogue talent build is a great all-round build for players to start with. With so many options, there are many alterations ot this build you can make to your liking. This specific build focuses around some important and historic skills such asAdrenaline Rush,Roll the Bones, Between the Eyes, andPistol Shot.
Dreadbladesis taken overKilling Spreeas fun to use and powerful attack. You also take anyBlade Flurrytalents here to help with AoE damage when needed, as well as some enhances toSlice and Dice.
Not Selected:
Notable talents left off the table are utility-type talents such asGrappling Hook. There are other powerful talents left off likeBlade RushandTriple Threat, but we believe the opportunities in the middle and right-side of the tree are more important for synergy.
Finally, at the bottom right of the Talent Menu there a,re three optional talents. These are Talents used in PvP and don’t have any effect on raid DPS.
