Team Compositions
Changli, introduced in the 1.1 update ofWuthering Waves, is a versatile DPS character who can perform as both a main DPS and sub-DPS. As a Fusion Sword character, Changli brings unique strengths and synergies to the team, making her a valuable asset in various compositions.
Luckily, regardless of whether she’s used as main DPS or sub-DPS, players can build her essentially the same way, allowing them to test her out in different team compositions and find fun rotations and unique team members if they wish to do so. Here’s the main aspects to focus on when building her,including her best weapons, echoes as well as forte priority.

Changli Best Echoes In Wuthering Waves
When it comes to Echoes, Changli isbuilt quite similarly to Encoreor Chixia. Her best Echo set is undoubtedly the 5-piece Molten Rift set with Inferno Rider as the main Echo. This set is highly effective as it focuses on increasing Fusion DMG, which is further amplified by the 5-piece set bonus, enhancing Fusion DMG even more when the Resonance Skill is used. Considering that Changli uses her Resonance Skill frequently in her rotation, she can maintain this buff consistently.
For players who haven’t been lucky in obtaining this Echo set with ideal main and sub-stats, especially in the early game, mixing it with a 2-piece Lingering Tunes set is a viable option. This combination provides more ATK, which Changli needs in high amounts to deal significant damage. As a last resort, even a full 5-piece Lingering Tunes set is quite viable, especially if planning to use her as the main DPS in combination with other main DPS characters such as Jinshi. However, it is worth noting that Changli cannot benefit from the Outro Skill DMG buff of Lingering Tunes,as her Outro Skill provides a bufffor Fusion DMG and Resonance Liberation DMG. Still, if the stats of the Lingering Tunes set are significantly better than the best Molten Rift pieces players have, it can still be an effective choice.
Lingering Tunes
For the rest of the Echoes setup, players should be using a 4-3-3-1-1 combination, with the 3-cost Echoes focusing on Fusion DMG or ATK% and the 1-star Echoes having ATK% as the main stat. If players have been unable to obtain good pieces from the 3-cost Echoes, a 4-4-1-1-1 setup can also work, though it is less ideal as it misses out on a significant amount of Fusion DMG.
For substats, it’s ideal to focus on the usual DPS build setups, which include Crit values, ATK, and Energy Regen, much like Encore. However, a significant difference is that instead of focusing on Basic ATK, Changli benefits from Resonance Skill substats,since a lot of her kit’s DMGcounts as Resonance Skill DMG. The need for this can be minimized if players opt for her signature weapon, which provides additional Resonance Skill bonus.
Changli Best Weapons In Wuthering Waves
In terms of weapons, Changli’s signature weapon, Blazing Brilliance, is ideal as it significantly boosts Crit DMG, Resonance Skill, and ATK%. However, it’s worth noting that players will need to spend a decent amount of time on-field with Changli to max out the weapon’s stacks and benefit from the full effect before the stacks reset.
If players do not have her signature weapon, Emerald of Genesis is a viable 5-star alternative. Conveniently available at level 45 in Union Level, it is one of the recommended 5-star options to pick from the standard banner, as it alsobenefits characters like Havoc or Spectro Rover. In end-game content like Tower of Adversity, players can swap around weapons and echoes between characters used in different towers, which can be handy for resource management.
Additionally, there are several 4-star weapon options that can work well, including Commando of Conviction, Lumingloss, and Lunar Cutter, providing viable alternatives for players without access to the 5-star weapons, especially considering that there aren’t many options to go for.
Changli Forte Priority In Wuthering Waves
Considering that resource management can be quite taxing on players when building multiple characters, it’s recommended to focus on upgrading the Forte that will bring the most value in terms of DMG. That being said, the order should be as follows:
