What Is A Steering Stick?

A Steering Stick is a Zonai Device that allows players to steer any vehicle it is attached to. This makes vehicles far easier to maneuver as the player can now control the direction the vehicle goes. The definition of ‘vehicle’ is also very loose, as the Steering Stick can be attached to almost anything that Link can stand on.

How to Drive Using a Steering Stick

Steering Sticks are very easy to use. The player should first attach the Steering Stick to the front of the vehicle of choice using Ultrahand — car, raft, boat, etc. Then, as long as the device is usable, the Steering Stick can be used to control the direction the vehicle goes. It can be controlled bystepping onto the device and pressing ‘A’ to activate it.

It should be noted that the Steering Stick uses up the Energy Cell charge, so playersshould upgrade the Energy Cellif they want to drive for long distances.

Zonai Devices Scattered Across the Map

As the player travels across Hyrule, they will come across random caches of Zonai Devices. These typically contain the componentsneeded to make a boat, which includes a Steering Stick. These caches can usually be found along the sides of rivers. The one in the above image can be found at coordinates 2147, -2173, 0034, though there are many scattered across the map.
